ESG data engineer

About the role

Our clients keep discovering that their sustainability figures disagree with each other because each framework got its own spreadsheet. You will build the alternative: a single controlled data set with one definition per metric, lineage from source system to disclosure, and mappings out to each standard.

The stack is unglamorous and deliberate — a warehouse, orchestrated pipelines, version-controlled transformations and an audit trail.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ingestion pipelines from meters, ERP systems and supplier portals
• Model one controlled metric layer and map it out to each reporting framework
• Implement the controls and lineage an assurance provider will test
• Automate restatement when a factor or a boundary changes
• Hand over documentation a client’s own team can operate

What we are looking for

• Four or more years in data engineering, with production ownership
• Strong SQL, Python and experience with an orchestration tool
• Experience with financial data controls is worth as much as sustainability experience
• An instinct for making a number reproducible rather than merely correct today
