The health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, clients, and the communities we work in come before any deadline or commercial target. This Safety Policy sets out how Earthly keeps its offices, laboratories, and project sites safe, and what we expect of everyone working under our name.
We identify, assess, and control hazards through planning, risk assessment, and steady improvement rather than after the fact. Every assignment — a site energy audit, a solar or wind installation review, an environmental survey — is carried out in line with the health and safety law of the country it takes place in and with recognized industry standards.
Employees, contractors, and partners are responsible for following agreed procedures, wearing the personal protective equipment a task calls for, stopping work that cannot be done safely, and reporting hazards and near misses the same day. Managers are responsible for the training, supervision, equipment, and time needed to make that possible.
Each project begins with a written risk assessment and a method statement, and site conditions are reviewed again whenever the work or the weather changes. We inspect and audit our sites on a schedule, investigate every incident to its root cause, and track corrective actions to completion rather than to acknowledgment.
Field work carries risks an office does not: electrical systems under load, work at height on roofs and turbines, confined spaces, moving plant, and lone work in remote locations. Permits to work, isolation procedures, and rescue plans are mandatory for those tasks, and no one carries them out without current certification for the job.
We check the safety record, insurance, and competence of every contractor before they are engaged, and their crews are briefed on our procedures before they start. A contractor who cannot meet this policy does not work on our projects.
Everyone receives an induction before their first assignment and refresher training at set intervals thereafter. Toolbox talks open each site day, and lessons from incidents anywhere in the business are shared across every team rather than filed.
Every site has a named first aider, documented emergency contacts, and an evacuation and rescue plan appropriate to its hazards. Drills are run regularly, and equipment such as first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and fall-arrest gear is inspected on a documented schedule.
We review this policy and the procedures beneath it at least once a year, and sooner when regulations, equipment, or the nature of our work changes. Employees and stakeholders are encouraged to raise concerns at any time, without fear of consequence.
